The Indian Cocktail Party Outfit

The brief was to create an outfit for an Indian cocktail party.

The Indian Cocktail party Look

My friend Natalia’s close friend was getting engaged and she needed help with curating some Indian outfits for a few events lined up in the summer. Since Natalia didn’t have much idea about Indian dresses and fashion, I had full freedom to create the perfect look for her.

These days, when it comes to Indian outfits, Anarkali’s are really in. But they are also very common. For Natalia, I wanted to create something a bit vintage but still very trendy.

Creating the look

With a complexion like Natalia’s, any bright colour would work. So I decided to give her an electric blue churidar suit with muted sliver work. I personally love churidar suits. I believe they also make you look taller and thinner. The winner of this look was the hairstyle. I decided to give her a braid, and tie her hair in a small bun on one side. For makeup I used shades of pink, copper and beige.

The outfit’s blue colour and silver work really stood out. That’s why I decided to keep the accessories a bit muted. I gave her blue jhumkas, silver bracelet, silver bangles, distressed silver purse and sandals.
