The Cow & The Chicken

Two Unlikely friends?

Namaste From Ananya - The Tramshed, Shoreditch,

Not at The Tramshed by Mark Hix, in Shoreditch!

As life trundles on, it becomes harder to stay in contact with friends.

Reunion dinners become an

event to look forward to,

dress up for or in my case...get a little snap-happy!

And with a Damien Hirst commissioned piece , I challenge you to take a visit to Mark Hix's The Tramshed, and not be tempted to snap away...

...and find the right angle:

And if animals preserved in formaldehyde aren't for you, then the surroundings definitely deserve a moment of your attention.

These photos don't do justice to the open feel of this beautifully renovated space.

But..onto dinner!

And we were a little undecided.

Yes, despite them leaving us only two options (none of us were vegetarian)

it's hard to choose between the variation of The Cow or The Chicken.

---

For me the decision was To Piri Piri or To Roast?

In the end, a few of us decided to share the

Roast barn-reared Indian Rock chicken with stuffing and chips

In case you were wondering, the deciding factor for me had been the gravy.

Yep, my friends, family...heck my PhD supervisor even knows I'm a bit partial to that sweet brown elixir ;)

Crisp, warm and delicious, and accompanied some chips.

We may have surprised ourselves with how much chicken we could finish off.

But don't worry, we saved some room for pudding!

Mini chocolate cake

Salted caramel fondue with Oakchurch cherries and marshmallows

(both Gluten Free)

occupied the last remaining inches of our stomach before we managed to waddle out in one piece!

Overall

Great food & ambience

The only slight disappointment was the service.

On a busy Saturday night in London, it's expected to have a 2 hour time slot for dinner reservations. Yet we seemed to be unnecessarily pressured into well before we were due to.

Until the next time,
