Happiness Jar #2
Another week filling up the jar...what's in yours?
1. Facing Fears & Reaching The Top ::
Walking up 1 of 2 of the Twin Peaks - San Francisco!
Tackling heights for me can be a constant challenge.
Roller Coasters - a no-no.
I love a good view but if reaching it means walking or climbing up rocky terrain then this can only be achieved by focusing on *one step at a time* and not looking down until that summit is achieved!
That said, without a little encouragement from my friend Roberta, I would have missed out on one beautiful view from the highest point in San Francisco.
2. Trying a little something new ::
That just so happens to be Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Raw
I've spoken about having gluten-free and dairy-free friends before.
As a result, I've ended up trying quite a lot of 'free-from' food.
There are just some times when you can't beat them and it's more fun to join them.
But usually I start out pretty sceptical.
I'll admit, I did wonder how this small square that contained no gluten nor dairy could satisfy some serious chocolate cravings.
"Well there's always the tea to wash it down with..."
But then, I had to eat my own words.
---
Have you ever tried those chocolate truffles?
The ones that dust your fingers with richly dark chocolate you need to lick off?
1 of these squares = 5 of those truffles.
Decadent, rich and surprisingly smooth, if you're not in the mood for chocolate, you may need to save some for later.
I'm impressed that a slab of this is free from much of the processed sugars and emulsifiers we find in other sweet treats.
These were definitely a pleasant surprise and leaves me with an open mind about what next to try!

3. Keeping Up Traditions
Back in March, my Bulgarian gifted me a red and white thread which she tied on my wrist.
The red and white together symbolise the coming of spring and wishes for good health.
Traditionally, these threads are gifted to friends and family, in the hope of urging Spring to visit quicker. To mark the arrival, the threads are wrapped onto the the branches of a blossoming tree.
I like to think this little piece of thread had something to do with stabilising the intermittent and confused British weather for right now, I'd definitely say Spring has Sprung!
Until the next time,
