Brunch at Granger and Co.
Sundays :: Lazy brunches, people watching & good company.
Granger & Co.'s queue and open windows can be spotted from across Westbourne Grove
...but in my book a busy eatery can only mean the food must be worth waiting for?
If you and your company aren’t fussy then you can even pull up a pew at the bar which is what my friend and I ended up doing.
(Un)fortunately for us, this was also next to a rather handsome selection of eye candy…
Prying our eyes away from them & back to the menu...
...we were in the best seats in the house to watch the fresh coffee and hot chocolates being made in abundance. There’s something about watching a barista skillfully etch away at his masterpiece in cream and dust off any imperfections with generous helpings of cocoa.
Hearty food here was a-plenty.
Granger & Co. opened by author and former news columnist, Bill Granger, I decided to go for the full Aussie breakfast.
Breakfast in the form of :
scrambled eggs, sourdough toast, bacon, roast tomato, miso chestnut mushrooms, chipolatas
Whilst my friend opted for the sweetcorn fritters complete with tomato, spinach and bacon.
---
This place was full when we went; weekend families gathering, couples’ lazy breakfasts and sophisticated ladies that brunch.
Though we weren’t any of the above, we stayed long enough to do a fair amount of people watching & aquaint ourselves with the extremely friendly staff.
I’d definitely recommend here for one of those lazy weekend breakfasts; though you may want to wake up slightly earlier than usual and save the lazing for after you’ve passed the queue!
